The vibrant colours and exquisite details of Mughal art have inspired the creation of numerous handicrafts. Discover stunning examples of the ancient style on this walking tour of Agra.
Your guided tour of Agra's finest arts and crafts will begin in front of the Kailash Cinema. From here, you'll delve deep into the city in search of different examples of handicrafts inspired by Mughal art. These handmade items are carefully created in intricate detail: admire the elaborate flowers and the painstakingly symmetrical geometric patterns. Appreciate the true beauty of these items as you explore the traditional bazaars where they are sold. The typical ceramic plates and hand-carved figurines - especially the many different miniature elephants - are an undoubtable highlight. Learn why the artists choose to represent these animals in particular, thanks to the fascinating explanations of your expert guide.
Mughal art is not only confined to porcelain and similar objects. During your guided tour, you'll also visit galleries where you can admire this ancient artistic style manifested in jewellery, fans and items of traditional Indian clothing.
You'll also get to experience how certain Indian handicrafts are made, and learn all about the ancient techniques still used to this day. Your tour will end at the Agra Art Gallery, which you can choose to explore later (not included) to discover yet more of the wonderful creativity on offer in this city.
