Free Walking Tour of Alicante

Begin this free city tour of Alicante from Plaza de Ayuntamiento. From here, follow your guide to the most emblematic parts of this pretty Mediterranean town.

Stroll to the Concatedral de San Nicolás de Bari (Co-Cathedral of St Nicholas of Bari), which was built on the ruins of an ancient mosque. After discovering its fascinating past, continue the walk along Calle Mayor and Calle Villavieja until you get to the Santa Maria Basilica, Alicante’s oldest religious building, full of interesting stories.

Then, explore the neighbourhood of Santa Cruz, one of the most picturesque of this vibrant seaside town. As you wander through the streets, you’ll get a glimpse of the Santa Barbara Castle perched on top of Mount Benacantil. Your guide will reveal its history, currently one of the country’s largest fortresses.

You’ll complete this free tour near the Port of Alicante, as you soak in the most important events that have taken place in this part of Spain.
