Córdoba & Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba
At 9 am, we'll pick you up at the established meeting points in Seville and depart for the ancient Caliphal capital of Córdoba.
After a brief stop in Carmona, a beautiful white village in the province of Seville, we'll arrive in the breathtaking city of Córdoba: one of the 15 Spanish cities that has the distinction of being declared a World Heritage Site.
We'll take a guided tour of the historic center of Cordoba on a pleasant walk through the Roman Bridge, the old Jewish quarter, the Royal Stables, and the Synagogue (closed on Mondays). We'll also stop at the colorful courtyards of Córdoba, where you can take some nice pictures.
After touring the old town of Cordoba, you'll have lunch at your own leisure following the guide's recommendations, and you'll have 30 to 45 minutes of free time for shopping or strolling around on your own.
In the afternoon, we'll take a guided tour of the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba. Inside, you'll be able to admire its brilliant golden mosaics and the careful ornamentation of its endless row of arches and the mihrab, the sacred space that indicates the direction to Mecca. You'll be amazed after admiring its contrasts and you'll quickly discover why this place is considered the most important monument of Western Islamic art.
At the end of the guided tour of the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, we'll return to the meeting points in Seville, arriving at 7 pm.
Please be aware that we can only guarantee an English-speaking guide in the Mosque-Cathedral if a certain number of people join the group. If not, the local tour provider will suggest joining a group in another language or using an audio guide. The rest of the tour will be in English.
